Allow us to introduce the new Texoma Medical Center -- your new hospital. Here's a sampling of what you can expect when it opens on December 27.

Join us at a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception on Wednesday, December 9, at 2 pm. Hospital tours to follow until 7 pm.

Photo of the new Texoma Medical CenterExpect unexpected amenities from the moment you walk in. Our lobby, far from a typical hospital's waiting area, features a coffee bar, comfortable leather couches, a fireplace and a water wall, all to help make you feel relaxed and at home.

The second floor hosts the cardiac unit, surgical areas and the 32-bed intensive care unit. The cardiac area features advanced cardiac catheterization equipment and other sophisticated technology, while the surgical unit offers innovative systems to improve workflow during procedures. For instance, ceiling-mounted booms deliver surgical equipment, illumination and video images exactly where team members need them. This minimizes floor clutter and organizes surgical areas for maximum efficiency.

The entire third floor is dedicated to moms, children and babies. It features spacious labor and delivery rooms, a nursery equipped with an advanced security system to keep your baby safe and a comfortable waiting area for patients and families. It also is home to the pediatrics unit and a playroom for our little patients.

If you're staying here, you'll get a room with a view all to yourself -- complete with a flat-screen television and wireless Internet access. We've designed patient rooms so there's plenty of natural light, which helps promote healing. And if you're hungry, we offer hotel-style room service. With the push of a button, a delicious meal will be delivered right to your bedside.

Floors 7 and 8 are considered shell space. The new hospital can easily grow with the community to add 76 beds and three more operating rooms.
